Everyone thought it was a cash grab, that film was doomed just by the title and tie-ins.

Reviews for Brave are coming in. They're not glowing, but not scathing either. Just kinda... mixed.
The biggest problem seems to be coming from the storytelling: the first half is suggested in the trailers, with Merida wanting to be a more strong, independent woman. The second half seems to forego that for more of a moralizing story about why you should want to obey your parents.

If they had a male protaginist that wouldn't even be an issue. That's not to say they should have, Pixar having a female one is long overdue, but I just think that stinks of double standard.

Reviews are already out? But the movie hasn't even been released yet! At least in my country, it's not supposed to come out until the 26th.

Well, Some films do give Preview Showings to reviewers, before release.
So that's probably why they got reviews.
Understandable?

Yeah. I mean they seem to be saying don't go into the movie expecting it completely reinvent the wheel. It's not awful just... pleasant.
