The show has been renewed for a fourth season. Since MLP is apparently going on extended hiatus after this weekend's episode, I'm guessing maybe Season 4 of LPS will be starting up soon.

Yeah. I also guess it also may have for best the way it is on occasion that they omitted certain characters.

Alright, I just saw the first two episodes of Season 4.
I still don't know why they decided to keep this show running. I mean, I know its popular, but it's not THAT popular! I can understand MLP because of its extreme popularity and endless plot possibilities, but LPS is basically the same thing over and over again with very predictable characters.
Though I noticed this season, they're trying to tie in something new: Blythe has now discovered her mom's old journal and is reading it to find out as much as she can about her mom. It turns out her mom could talk to pets too! So it looks to me like the writers are trying to incorporate some new elements to the series to keep the viewers engaged, but I still think they're going overboard with trying to keep it in production as long as possible.

While I admt, out of; MLP, Pound Puppies and LPS; LPS would probably be lower on my list. I do feel that, If there are ideas, that they wish to try, that may also make a Show air for more Seasons, I don’ see why one wouldn’ at leas, try it.
I mean, MLP does it al the time; The Crystal Empire, Princess Twilight Sparkle, The Diary Of The Two Sisters, Rainbow Powers, The Friendship Castle, Equestria Girls.
So, if LPS wishes to try more possible ideas, I don’ see why they shouldn’ at least, try them, it may even be a case of the Show; "Growing The Beard". You Know what I mean, Belchic? ;3

Like I said, MLP is an easy show to let "grow the beard", because it is set in an environment where anything can be possible. LPS, on the other hand, is set in a modern-day real-life environment. This gives it limited possibility putting the show at risk of getting repetitive and predictable. Like I said, I kind of compare this show to Ed, Edd n Eddy, a show that was set in a real life environment with a repetitive and predictable premise. I will admit it was an entertaining show (only for the first four seasons though, because it later on hit rock bottom when they started changing up the show by having the kids go to school and all), it was pretty shallow and stale overall. Another thing I might want to point out about LPS is that it take the risk of feeling dated considering its set in a time when people are using technology of today, and seeing that the characters mostly have the attitudes of kids of today. I'm sure 10 years from now, people will look back at this show and come to realize it hasn't aged very well. It's like 101 Dalmatians: The Series, which has so many factors that make it feel dated (again, not a bad show, but problematic). And if you say it's ok for LPS to grow its beard the way MLP does, then how come Pound Puppies stopped its production after 65 episodes? And don't tell me 65 is the episode maximum; if MLP and LPS can get away with going beyond that, then I don't see why Pound Puppies can't. I know Trey_Vore has given me these arguments before: "It's gender-neutral," "Kids can't relate to the main characters," "It's not as awesome as Transformers." It almost sounds to me like he's trying to tell me I'm not allowed to like Pound Puppies. Well, I actually found several hardcore fans of it who are pushing to try to get it back into production, so that should be some proof that the show does have plenty of hardcore fans. Sorry if I sound like I'm going off topic, but I just wanted to make some points here.

On TONIGHT's episode... Russell's dad makes his debut. Blythe hides in a closet. Zoe gets mistaken for a wig. Minka sits on Penny Ling's head. AND... The Biskits make their first appearance of the season!
When Blythe was hiding in the closet from the Biskits, I was wondering why she didn't take that opportunity to use some of the clothes in the closet to disguise herself.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Jerry's owner was a characature of Don Knotts.

Anyone else watch this episode and notice the Applejack cameo? It was Blythe's costume! Actor allusion, would you say?
Though I find it kind of weird: First MLP has a Christmas special during the Halloween season, and now LPS has a Halloween special during the Christmas season!

As entertaining as this show is, I really think they need to end it. Like I said, it's repetitive, it's predictable, and it risks dating itself. If Pound Puppies ended after 65 episodes, then what gives them the right to go on with LPS? MLP is excusable because of its popularity and the fact that it's set in an environment with endless possibilities, but LPS is not like that. This show will never be the next MLP:FIM.

You're about to get your wish Belchic. They announced that Season 4 will be the final season of Littlest Pet Shop. If there is good news at least this series will end strong, hopefully with a movie and if it did come back for a Season 5 the series would wear out its welcome. But seeing how considering it's about a toyline that was a bit obscure and debuted in the forgotten decade between the Cold War and the War on Terror (ie. the 90s) its success was astonishing. And who knows, if they do another LPS series at least it doesn't have a long history of being the butt of a joke and may be a bit easier for fans to adapt to the new show, just like with Transformers. With My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, it needs to keep barreling on as it's not known if should they end the show and start with a new series if it will strike the same chord; the execution led to its success and the next show it may revert back to the older generations for all we know. It will just be a matter of time until they start recycling plots, contradicting what's been established and Flanderizing the characters. Looking forward to what else Hasbro may do with this franchise.
