So what do you think we'll see in the Oscars this time? If it were up to me, if "Frozen" is good, these would be the three I want to see in the runnings for Best Animated Feature: Frozen Despicable Me 2 The Croods ...and if I had to fill in 2 more spots, I guess... Epic (even though I haven't seen it due to a lack of interest) Equestria Girls (even though everyone hates it) Monsters University is going to be nominated before they ever touch Equestria Girls.

The Academy loves Pixar, I'd even put Monsters U before Despicable Me 2. Epic as a longshot might be plausible though.
That said I don't know why anyone gives a s*** about the Oscar for animated feature this early. Winning an Oscar doesn't make an animated feature the best of the year. Oscars are only given to stuck up movie people by equally stuck up movie people on the basis of who spent the most behind the scenes wining and dining the judges and/or helps further Hollywood's agenda.

Funny I brought that up today, because I just saw some news on imdb, and the academy already has it's three nominations planned for best animated feature:
Monsters U (which is surprising, though I doubt it'll win since it's predecessor didn't)
Despicable Me 2 (also surprising since it's predecessor wasn't even nominated, but I'm glad it made it)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (Uggghh! I just hope Frozen does well enough to bump this off the list!)

Well, Frozen just came out today. As promised, I plan to go see it on Friday. I'm praying it'll be good. Though there is a chance some other people on this board will have seen it before me, but I won't count on it. Once I do see it, I'll post in here what I thought were the best and worst of this year.

Just got back from seeing Frozen with my sisters. I thought it was incredible! The story was solid, the characters were fun, the animation was gorgeous, and there were plenty of twists and turns throughout it. I strongly recommend seeing it; I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I just found out not too long ago that there's going to be yet another animated movie coming out this year! It's called "Walking with Dinosaurs". To tell the truth, it looks really bad. In fact, it looks exactly like Disney's "Dinosaur", which was already a bad film to begin with! Great, now I may have to delay my Best/Worst list even longer...unless you guys think I shouldn't bother trying to count it.

When I saw that a film named that was coming; I thought it was a film adaptation of that David Attenborough Documentary show. Although, it does look like a Dinosaur remake, doesn't it?

Right now on Rotten Tomatoes the score for Frozen is an 85%, and that's really, really good. It's close to what Wreck-It Ralph did last year.
I planned to see it, so I'll let you guys know what I think.

I just got back from seeing Frozen, and...Paws was right! It was incredible! Man, after a long year of terrible animated films, Disney saved it by delivering a masterpiece! Everything was great! The story, the characters, the songs, and of course, the animation! If you plan to go see this movie while it's still in theaters, you have to see it in 3D! It's the only way to get the full experience!
Now, then, as promised, here are my picks for the best and worst animated films of 2013. Remember that this is my opinion. Trey_Vore may disagree with me, and if he does, so be it.
Top 5 Best: #5 - Free Birds (but that's not saying much) #4 - The Croods #3 - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls #2 - Despicable Me 2 #1 - Frozen
Honorable Mentions: Planes, which I haven't seen and don't plan to. Walking with Dinosaurs hasn't been released yet, but it's probably not worth it.
Top 5 Worst: #5 - Monsters University #4 - Turbo #3 - Epic #2 - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 #1 - Escape from Planet Earth

To be honest, the only Animated Film of 2013 that I've seen in full this year is 'Monsters University'.
I plan to see 'Frozen' Next Sunday.
I've heard it's got plenty of good reviews. Although, when Elsa sings her song; considering whose singing it, I get a lot of "Defying Gravity" vibes from it. Know what I mean?

I never said so, but I did see Frozen on Thanksgiving Day.
Most definitely the best animated film of the year.
As far as entries in the Disney Animated Canon go, well...
Do you know how the poster says "From the creators of Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph? Well, I'll say it's between those two. I didn't like it as much as Wreck-It Ralph, but I thought it was a little better than Tangled.
So I'm going to give it an A-.

I'm going to let you guys know...
AniMat reviewed Frozen.
He does say that he's had to review several animated films released this year where the only one he really liked was Despicable Me 2. Everything else was either just okay (The Croods) or flat-out terrible (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2).
But it happened. He liked Frozen to the point of giving it his Seal of Approval!

I thought he liked Epic better than The Croods.
What were his scores on Frozen?
Personally, I'd give it:
Story: 8/10 Animation: 10/10 Characters: 10/10 Songs: 9/10
Overall: 9/10
