Sounds like there is a chance I might not be able to see Isle of Dogs, but I hope one of my local theaters plays it.
Now if you want my thoughts on the rest of the animated films coming out this year...
I have a feeling Duck Duck Goose is going to wind up being the Emoji Movie or Norm of the North of this year.
I think it’s safe to say Incredibles 2 is the most hyped animated film of this year.
Hotel Transylvania 3, The Series doesn’t impress me in the slightest, but I know it does have fans.
I don’t know what they were thinking when they decided to give Teen Titans Go it’s own movie. That’s like the most hated show on CN along with the Powerpuff Girls reboot, but it also has a lot of fans, so I guess it’s like Spongebob: you either love it or hate it.
I’ve noticed a lot of people seem intrigued by Small Foot, but I saw a trailer for it, and it looks awful. So I don’t know what they are thinking.
The Grinch I find unnecessary since we already have the Chuck Jones cartoon and the Jim Carrey movie (even though a lot of people hate the latter), but it looks promising so far, and I might give it a go.
Wreck-It Ralph 2, like I said, seeing an entry in Walt Disney Animation Studios that is a sequel gives me the impression that Disney has turned into cash cows and is now no better than any of their rival studios. As much as I love Wreck-It Ralph, and this movie does have a lot of massive hype for it, it didn’t need a sequel (neither does Frozen for that matter). Though I’m probably going to get the same arguments:
1. “It’s awesome.”
2. “It’s popular.”
3. “It’ll give them a chance to continue the story.”
4. “They’ll make more money off of it.”
So what? Making a sequel like this to a Disney Movie should be a sin! You just don’t do it! Just because all the other studios are making franchise films doesn’t mean Disney has to. If you saw a bunch of people jumping off a cliff, would you do it to? And don’t even think about saying, “Well, this isn’t like jumping off a cliff!”
My point is I feel like Disney has become a parody of themselves, and nothing more.
Spider-Man, at first I was surprised to see a movie based on a Marvel comic not made by Disney. Then again, I said the same thing about Deadpool when it came out. Though bab has told me Sony still owns Spider-Man, though I’m sure Disney is planning to go after them soon. As for the movie, I’m not interested.
As for Animal Crackers, to be honest, I don’t see this movie coming into existence. After all the delays with no promotions, I have a feeling it’s going to get canceled and fade off into obscurity like Blazing Samurai.
