We're back, so far the second stage has proved even harder than the first, eliminating 7 of the 8 challengers who have attempted it so far. Will any of the remaining 15 clear Stage 2.
Next up is Noggin. One of the smartest pups, Noggin proved he's got some physical skills to back it up when he defeated Stage 1. Can he do it again... (Noggin rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! Noggin takes on the Super Jump and makes it. It's on to the Lumberjack Climb, which with the help of the harness he also clears. Next is the Chain Reaction. He rides the first one down but takes a real ride with that inertia whipping at the end and HE'S LOST HIS SHADES! When he got jerked forward his glasses fell off and fell into the water below. Lighting and angles prevent us from seeing his eyes as he transfers to the second chain and kicks off, he's pointed backward, AND HE SLIPS OFF! Noggin drops into the water and is defeated! At least he's able to swim over and get his sunglasses) Noggin has never lost before but he's never taken on the TOP DOG course before either. He seemed to be doing fine until he lost his glasses on the Chain Reaction and fell shortly thereafter.
Next is Swift Fox, the only non-dog challenger left. Swift is the farm's fastest resident but will speed be of any help on Stage 2, which is based more on strength. (Swift rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! Swift is off. He flys off the Super Jump and sticks the landing. On to the Lumberjack Climb, he throws on the harness and finishes it. Now for the Chain Reaction. He starts...but is flung off into the water hazard after slipping in the interia whipmotion at the end. Tough break for the little fox) The not-so noble sport of foxtossing makes a brief return. Swift seemed to be doing well before he slipped on the Chain Reaction and failed.
The next challenger is Rebecca, the carriage hound. Can this blast from the past make it thru Stage 2. (Rebecca rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! She's off, but hits the side of the landing platform and falls in. I would not have predicted this) The endurance Rebecca has built up as a carriage hound would have been of great use on the tougher obstacles at the end of Stage 2, too bad she didn't make it that far.
We've just seen three more challengers take on Stage 2 and none of them made it. With 11 challengers having attempted, only Drake has made it to the Final Stage. The last 12 still contain some very heavy hitters though including Two-Tone, Lucky, Blaze, Tripod, Volker, Roadhouse, Kendra, Nuke and more! Will any of them rise to the challenge? And if they do, can anyone complete the entire course? Find out when we return next time with more of the TOP DOG CHALLENGE!
(I still need someone to do the Stage 2 runs for my characters Wing and Roadhouse [avoids any conflict of interest that way]. If there are any volunteers for that it would be appreciated. I trust your judgement as to how they would do)

We're back. Of the 23 Stage 1 survivors, 11 have attempted Stage 2 and 10 have been defeated. Will anyone rise up and join Drake on Stage 2.
Marking the middle of Stage 2 is the 12th challenger to attempt to make it, Slayer. This rocker and member of the New Pups on the Block, plowed thru Stage 1 like a Crazy Train but will he make it a two-for-two and finish again on Stage 2. (Slayer rises onto Stage 2. 3...2...1...GO! He's off and down the ramp. He clears the Super Jump. Now it's on to the Lumberjack Climb. Slayer straps on the harness and climbs. He makes it. He grabs the first chain of the Chain Reaction and swings. He survives the inertia whip motion and transfers to the second chain. He swings down to the platform BUT HE DROPS TOO SOON! He lands 3/4ths on the platform but his right hind leg lands in the water) There will be no Final Stage encore for Slayer tonight. The rocker dropped off the Chain Reaction too soon and clipped the water. At least his blonde coif of fur is still intact.
Next is Blaze, the only non-Dalmatian left standing. This German Shepard's love of rock climbing and cliff diving has given him perhaps the best climbing ability of anyone in the event and it showed as he cleared Stage 1 with one of the best times. But will he get a chance to use them on the Final Stage where they would be a perfect fit? (Blaze rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! He's off...but mistimes his jump and goes straight into the water! Incredibly, Blaze is defeated by the first obastacle) The answer...no. Blaze's chances of total victory turned out to be just hype, like most of his so-called adventures.
Up next is Volker. This winged dalmatian wasn't allowed to use his wings on Stage 1 but it didn't matter as he cleared anyway. On Stage 2 he's once again grounded from flying but he is being allowed to have his wings out as long as he keeps them in one position for his entire run. With them in a spread position, Volker is hoping that they'll give him extra lift on the Super Jump, will it work... (Volker rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! He's off and up. The wings work to a tee and Volker easily completes the Super Jump, although now he has to have them in the same spread position for the remainder of his run. He has trouble fitting the harness around them but does well enough to climb it successfully. Onto the Chain Reaction. His swing is much slower than the other, the wings are creating a lot of drag. There is no interia whipping as he switches chains and starts the second part. He finishes. Now it's time for the Balance Tank. He starts it and stays on, finishing. Now it's time to take on the Rumbling Dice. He pulls it down and starts. By halfway he's showing signs of tiring but finishes. Now it's time for Domino Hill. He walks slowly up it, completing the Blue zone but he slips in the Green Zone and down he goes!) Volker's plan of using his wings on Stage 2 seemed to be working but a slip on Domino Hill ended his hopes.
Next is a real fan favorite on the farm, Two-Tone. Two-Tone showed on Stage 1 that she has the muscles to back up her looks as she finished with one of the best times. Can she do it again on Stage 2? (Two-Tone rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! She's off and airborne! Flying more gracefully than Spot, she successfully completes the Super Jump. On to the Lumberjack Climb and using the harness she's up. With a fast swing, she takes on the Chain Reaction. Despite a big whip, she holds on, switches chains and kicks off the wall. She finishes. Now it's Two-Tone vs. the Balance Tank. She starts and is doing fine as it picks up speed but slips just before the end, she's flung in front of the barrel and ends up in a painful-looking squeeze play with the edge of the finish before falling into the water. Is she okay?) Despite a scary looking fall, Two-Tone was uninjured in her defeat. Still, the fan favorite won't be moving on to the Final Stage.
Next is the pup wearing the #101. Voted by the other challengers as the one most likely to complete the entire course it's Tripod, Mr. Top Dog himself. Tripod had by far the best time on Stage 1. Will he keep it up and cruise to victory on Stage 2? (Tripod rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! Tripod makes the fearsome Super Jump look like child's play as he lands easily. With a fast assault on the log, Tripod finishes the Lumberjack Climb. Gripping the chain with his one paw, he finishes the first part. Wrapping his hind legs around to prevent a fall he switches chains and finishes it. He's flying thru the course as he easily finishes the Balance Tank! Now on to the Rumbling Dice. He hops on and...ah, he's only got one arm. How's he going to complete it. OH HE LEAPS! AND IT WORKS. With a series of leaps using his arm to launch him, Tripod finishes the Rumbling Dice but he's visibly tired. He slowly walks up Domino Hill, he's tired but finishes. Now onto the Cliff Hanger. He climbs out and somehow simmes across. He's really tiring out as he launches himself up like he did earilier and grabs the top ledge. Can Tripod finish? With a final launch he goes for the finish...and is unable to grab the ledge and plumets into the water hazard below! THIS CANNOT BE! TRIPOD IS DEFEATED!) Tripod was the favorite to win it all and seemed to be on track to do just that until he faced the Rumbling Dice and tired trying to overcome his lack of a fourth leg. Despite this he still almost completed the course before the last drop on the Cliff Hanger did him in.
We just watched as five more challengers took on Stage 2 and none of them finished. Not even the might of Tripod was enough to finish. While 16 of the 23 Stage 1 finishers have tried Stage 2, only one has finished so far. Will any of the last 7 be able to reach the Final Stage?
(I still need someone to do the runs for Wing and Roadhouse, so if anyone wants to, go ahead and do'em. I trust your judgement)

We had our differences in the past but I long since got revenge on you, I called you a loudmonth like at least 8 months ago. I figured after that we were even.
Stealth's wipeout wasw for shock value (the stongest often wipeout unexpectedly) and showing her vanity, her c ockiness did her in.
Noggin's was because he is more of a brainy character than a strong one.
Konami, same reason. He's a gamer, not a butt-kicker.
It's a parody of Ninja Warrior, it has to be hard and people have to lose.

We're back as Stage 2 contuines to gut the roster. 23 of the original 101 challengers cleared Stage 1 but 15 of them have joined the other 78 on the sidelines as we're seen wipeout after wipeout. Still, Drake has shown Stage 2 is beatable. Will any of the last 7 join him for the Final Stage...
Next is Kendra. This lover of all things magical cleared Stage 1 with a good time. Can the former leader of the Resistance become the first female to clear Stage 2? (Kendra rises on Stage 2. 3...2...1...GO! She's off and airborne. She makes it. Now it's on to the Lumberjeck Climb. With the help of the harness, she's up. Onto the Chain Reaction. She rides the first and survives the intertia whip. She swatches chains and finishes the obstacle. On the Balance Tank she rides it 3/4ths across and jumps. She makes it. She grabs the Rumbling Dice and yanks it down and across she goes. She makes it. Climbing Domino Hill she has a stumble in the Yellow Zone but survives and makes it to the final obstacle. She shimmies out onto the Cliff Hanger and pulls onto the higher ledge. This is the moment of truth, she lowers one paw down to the lower edge, then releases the other and she's...ON! She shimmies across and finishes Stage 2! The celebratory smoke sprays upward) Kendra did it! The former Resistance leader showed her skills are still sharp as she becomes the 2nd challenger to reach the finish. Now can she spread her wings and fly to victory on the Final Stage?
Next is Patch. This one-of-a-kind wonderdog saved his entire family on an adventure in London. Now he's bulked up and is one of the farm's strongest pups. Can the "wonderdog" become the "Top Dog?" (Patch rises onto Stage 2. 3...2...1...GO! He's off and down the Super Jump. Wait, he mistimes the jump! He hits the side of the platform and falls backward into the water. Patch is defeated by the first obstacle! THIS CANNOT BE!) Patch may be one-of-a-kind but a slight misculation made him one of the many eliminated by the Super Jump.
Next is Nuke. This adventurer had no troubles on Stage 1. Can he keep it up and drop a bomb on the idea of defeat again with Stage 2? (Nuke rises onto the course. 3...2...1...GO! Nuke is off and lands perfectly after the Super Jump. Onto the Lumberjack Climb, AND NUKE CLAWS UP WITHOUT THE HARNESS! That's impressive. Onto the Chain Reaction. he survives the first chain, switches, kicks off the wall and finishes almost in one fluid motion. Onto the Balance Tank. He rides it 5/8ths of the way across and jumps. He's made it. He's demolishing the course! Onto the Rumbling Dice and with pull after pull he finishes. Onto Domino Hill, starts the slow walk up. He stumbles in the Green Zone and again in the Yellow but he's holding on, NO! Another stumble in the Red Zone sending him falling as the Dominos topple. That's it for Nuke) Nuke was doing spectacular until Domino Hill. The easily toppled Dominos fell and knocked him out.
Next is Tippy. The farm's tallest resident is one of the surprises who cleared Stage 1. No one expected her to get this far. Can she surprise again on Stage 2? (Tippy rises onto Stage 2. 3...2...1...GO! She's off and completes the Super Jump. Onto the Lumberjack Climb. She puts on the harness, climbs a fourth of the way up and just grabs the top and pulls herself up. She's doing well as she completes the first part of the Chain Reaction. She changes chains and kicks off the wall, easily finishing the obstacle. Onto the Balance Tank and Tippy has a slight slip near halfway but finishes. She grabs the Rumbling Dice and starts to pull herself across, she's finished. Slowly she walks up Domino Hill. She stumbles a bit in the Green Zone but finishes! Amazingly, Tippy has reached the Final obstacle! Can she clear it and reach the Final Stage. She shimmies out and climbs to the higher ledge. This is the hard part. She reaches her right front paw out and grabs the lower ledge. She releases her left one but misses trying to swing to the lower ledge. She tries to pull herself back up but too late. She drops off into the muddy water below. Oh, she was so close!) Tippy was the biggest surprise of the event so far. Not known for strength or balance, she still made it to the final obstacle of Stage 2 before she fell. If there is a second Top Dog Challenge keep your eyes on her.
Our last challenger for now is Lucky. The main pups' leader, he's done more than most of the others put together. With his chief rival Tripod now on the sidelines is Stage 2 now Lucky's time to shine? (Lucky rises onto Stage 2. 3...2...1...GO! He's off and finishes the Super Jump. On to the Lumberjack Climb. He throws on the Harness and climbs up without breaking a pant. He has no trouble finishing the first leg of the Chain Reaction, now he switches chains and kicks off the wall. He easily finishes. Onto the Balance Tank. He's off with no problems but at about the 7/8ths mark he slips! He ends up wedged between the edge of the tank of the rolling barrel that the barrel props him up and keeps him out of the water. Lucky survives the close call and finishes the obstacle. He has no trouble with the Rumbling Dice and easily walks up Domino Hill. It's onto the Cliff Hanger. This is where Tripod fell. Can Lucky finally one-up his rival. He shimmies out and pulls up onto the raised ledge. Now the hard part. He puts his right paw on the lower ledge then releases his left for the swing down...and he makes it! A quick shimmy on the last ledge and Lucky completes Stage 2. The celebratory smoke sprays upward) He did it! Lucky succeed where many others had failed and becomes just the 3rd Challenger to make it to the Final Stage!
We just watched 5 more challengers take on Stage 2 and finally saw another victory as Kendra completed the Stage. Not to lose any spotlight, Lucky also beat Stage 2. They'll both join Drake at having a shot at the Final Stage and Total Victory. We've almost reached the end of Stage 2. With 21 of 23 challengers down, we've seen 3 beat the odds and finish the course. But before they go for all the glory there are still two more who must take on Stage 2, farm dancer bouncer Roadhouse and fire-on-ice hockey player Wing. Will either of the final two challengers make the Final Stage a party of four is it Three's Company. Get ready for the big finish of the Top Dog Challenge!
(I still need someone to write the Stage 2 runs for my characters Wing and Roadhouse to make sure it stays fair. Anyone can do it, as for how they'd do I trust your judgement)

At least for now the second stage isn't done but I'm going to reveal the Final Stage now to stir interets.
The Final Stage consits of the big metal tower shown previously. The cold steel tower itself measure 35 feet high with the finish line of the Top Dog Challenge located on a platform 25 feet up with a red sign drapped off it it saying "FINISH" in big leaders.
(The lights go on, revealing the entire tower. There's more to it than just the Rope Climb.)
The Final Stage consists of two obstacles that challengers must use to reach the top.
Brick Wall A simple wall with bricks extending outward at randomly placed areas within reach of one another. The bricks function as a hand hold, allowing one to climb it like a rock wall. It extends 15 feet straight up.
Final Rope Climb The final 10 feet is a simple rope climb. It's not greased, it's not wet, it's just a rope that they must climb up. Challengers must climb to the top and up thru a hole in the top platform to press a button mounted on the platform floor to achieve total victory. If they do not complete the Final Rope Climb in time it releases and sends the challenger for a controlled falling decent back to the ground.
The stage must be completed in just 40 seconds.
Contestants will wear a red safety harness attached to a safety line during their climb in case of a fall and/or the end drop.
THE RESULTS If someone finishes the Final Stage... The team of 101 challengers recieve the prize...the Chow Tower will be filled with Kanine Krunchies' high end flavor "Pistachio Veal" for one week (As incentive, one bonus bag of the stuff is placed on the finish platform for celebratory purposes if someone makes it)
This will be the same no matter how many finishers there are.
If no one finishes... There is no winner, Pug keeps the kibble. The course lives up to it's billing as "unbeatable"
Will anyone beat the course? Or will the course beat everyone? Find out in the exciting conclusion to the Top Dog Challenge!
(I still need someone to do the Second Stage runs for Roadhouse and Wing, two of my characters who via rules I cannot do myself to avoid rigging. If anyone could, I'd appreciate it)
