Huh, 1 foot away by the looks of it before Drake failed.....man, I hate time challenges. If it weren't time related, he would've gotten it

Welcome back to the TOP DOG CHALLENGE. Farm dance bouncer pup Roadhouse was to be the next to try the Final Stage but a problem with his safety harness has delayed his run. He'll go later.
Next to attempt the Final Stage is Kendra, the last female standing. The former Resistance leader has always been one of the farm's toughest females and she proved it by defeating Stage 1 and Stage 2. Now she faces her toughest challenge yet.
(Kendra is strapped in and ready to go. She is in the same sit position as Drake was per the rules. 3...2...1...GO! [gong bang] She's off, and starts climbing the Brick Wall. She seems a little quicker than Drake. At 35 seconds she's a fourth of the way up the wall and halfway at 31 seconds. Still might not be enough. 24 seconds and she switches to the Rope Climb, allowing the Brick Wall to slide back. She's using both his front and rear paws like Drake did at the end. 15 seconds left and she is 4/10ths up the rope. May be close. 6 seconds and she's 8/10ths. Done to the wire but she could do it. 3...2 (9/10ths)...1 (She's thru and goes for the button)...GO IT! Kendra presses the red button! She completes the Final Stage with 0.07 of a second left on the clock! Kendra climbs fully onto the platform to celebrate) CROWD: YEAH! (cheers wildly) (Red lights flash up and down the tower) Announcer: AMAZING! Kendra took on the Final Stage tower and eeked out a win. The Top Dog Challenge will end with a victory for the challengers.
While Kendra's victory assures the group gets the kibble there are still two challengers left to try. Will we see another challenger finish the course?
Our next challenger is Lucky. The big hero, the leader of the Main Pups and the fan favorite. Lucky has seemed to live up to his name throughout the event. On Stage 1 he barely avoided disaster when the Rolling Log came off its tracks but still finished the Stage. Then on Stage 2 he again just missed elimination when he fell on the Balance Tank but managed to use the edge of the tank and the rolling barrel itself to recover. Now his luck is worthless, it will take skill to finish the tower but Lucky knows he can do it. (Lucky is strapped in and ready to go. 3...2...1...GO! [gong] He's off and up the wall. He's going strong. 35 seconds and he at the 1/4th mark, he doing just as well as Kendra. 31 seconds and he's halfway with the switch to the Rope Climb coming at 24 seconds. He's just as fast as Kendra as he reaches the halfway mark on the rope at 12.5 seconds and still going strong. He could do it too. 8/10ths at 6 seconds! 3...2...1...He's at the top and Lucky makes a lunge for the button...AND HE MISSED it!!! NO! Lucky loses! [Pop sound effect, Lucky and the rope drop back to Earth defeated]) Announcer: SO CLOSE! Lucky was anything but on the Final Stage. He did everything right and climbed the Tower in the alloted time but he reached the top he missed the button when he reached out to press it and ran out of time. Only a rare instance of bad luck prevented total victory for the Main Pup leader.
We've just seen two nearly identical Final Stage attempts with radically different outcomes. While a last second error cost Lucky a victory Kendra rose to the top and defeated the Top Dog course.
Total victory is achieved and the kibble is won but this thing's not over yet. Roadhouse is now the "last man standing" and with a working harness is now ready to take his shot at Total Victory. Will this Swayze Crazy bouncer become the second challenger to finish or will the Top Dog course make one last stand and bring its total number of victims to an even 100? Find out in the big finish to the TOP DOG CHALLENGE!
(While it no longer has a bearing on the outcome of the fic, I still feel uncomfortable doing Roadhouse's Final Stage run. If anyone else could write it it would be appreciated. Once he's done I'll return to write some final wrap-up stuff)

That was a pretty random ending. I wouldn't have expected Kendra to end up being the Top Dog.

It's not over Belchic, Roadhouse made it to the Final Stage and I still need someone to write his run before I can write the last part.

Announcer: And now it's time to award tonight's "Goody's Headache Award" sponsored by Goody's Headache Powder. This is given to the challenger who had the roughest wipeout in the event. The honor goes to Heartbreaker Rob for his rude introduction to the Door Jam back on Stage 1. (Show clips of the incident, mainly in slow-mo for added effect) Rob miscalculated his Door Jam jump on Stage 1 and hit the door full force, leading to a nasty fall. Rob was uninjured and contuined briefly before falling. Tough luck Rob but at least your hit won something thanks to the fine folks at Goody's. Goody's Headache Powder Everything's faster in Goody's Country.
And now it's time for our "Last Man Standing." The Last Man Standing's run is brought to you by Nintendo. Nintendo, Now you're playing with Power!
Of our original 101 challengers, 100 are done, Kendra finished and 99 others faced elinimation. Only one remains on the course, farm dance bouncer Roadhouse. Can he become the second finisher or will the course achieve 100 defeats?
(Again, I can't write Roadhouse's run since he's one of my characters. If there is anyone, anyone at all who like to write his Final Stage please do it, I want to finish this fic up before I get too busy with work)

With the fans cheering loudly in the stands, the sun trickling down into the well lit stadium, RoadHouse slowly stepped up towards the starting platform of the TOP DOG CHALLENGE. He bit his lower lip, taking a deep clensing breath. Steady. Focus. He tried not to think of all the dogs that had gone before him, tried to concentrate on the mistakes they made, tried to fixate himself on the race. Just win. Just Win Roadhouse....just - The gong snapped the pup free of his thoughts, rattling him and his confidence in on loud resounding bash of steel- but the pup was off like a rocket.
Roadhouse moved with a purpose, his eyes narrowed on the prize, while his paws chewed up the ground underneath him, tearing across the course as fast as he could. The lights, the sounds, the cheering the announcer- all of it was a blur, lost to a sea of indescribable sensations. No no no, Roadhouse, just focus! Focus!! The pup raced himself towards the wall, up and over without a second glance. Not a problem, just run. You can do it...run...run Roadhouse...
He stood there...immune to the chants and screams of the audience, his eyes widen as he stared at the rope- the huge tremendous rope that was daunting him...like climbing a mountain...He closed his eyes. Focus...you were prepared for this...you knew this was coming...come on Roadhouse. Farm Bouncer...strongest pup...this is a peice of cake....just.....don't look down.
Roadhouse wrapped his paws around the rope, his eyes squeezed tightly shut, and he began to hoist himself up. Just climb. Don't think. Just go...climb...climb Roadhouse, Climb! He pulled himself up another foot, another foot and a foot after that. The crowd was screaming, chanting all of them calling out wildly yelling. His name. They were chanting for him...his name. Higher! Go higher....Roadhouse kicked it into gear, climbing as fast as he could his eyes shut tightly, whimpers rumbling from his chest as he threw himself up the rope...he had to get to the top...had to do it...had to make it...no...no he couldn't do it...he glanced down. An eye slipped open...GADZOOKS HE WAS HIGH!!!!
"Mommy!" He squeaked, squeezing the rope for dear life...he didn't even realize the crowd was screaming for him to press the button, chanting, hollaring...he was right there!! HE had gottent o the top! He made it! "PRESS THE BUT-TAN! PRESS THE BUT-TAN! PRESS THE BUT-TAN!!!" He didn't move...frozen with fear...they chanted for a full ten seconds, before the buzzer rang...the popper going off...and Roadhouse whimpering quietly, clinging to the rope with both eyes shut...

Thanks Tac.
(Rope releases and sends Roadhouse on a fast drop back to Earth) Announcer: Incredible. Roadhouse had the right stuff to climb the tower in time but froze under the pressure and faced defeat. (The announcer narrates over clips from thru out the fic) Announcer: With the end of Roadhouse's run we have now reached the end of the Top Dog Challenge. 101 challengers from 4 contients came to the foot of the mountain in Jenkins Junction to take on Pug's supposedly "unbeatable" new obstacle course. The going was tough right from the get-go as Stage 1 eliminated 78 of them with Stage 2 sending a further 19 into the course's muddy water hazards. Only 4 challengers made it to the Final Stage and while each came close to achieving Total Victory, only Kendra had what it took to complete the entire course. Because of her victory, the team of challengers will indeed have the Chow Tower filled with Kanine Krunchies Pistasio Veal for the course of 1 week. Today the team of challengers prevailed. Thank you for watching. For the Top Dog Challenge, I'm your Announcer. Good night.
(The credits roll, images of wild wipeouts from the event including Two-Tone, Kit, Connor, Drake and others are shown behind the credits while some heroic sounding music plays in the background)
Special Thanks to... G4 and Tokyo Broadcasting System for the inspiration The members of this message board for their respective characters. Thank you all for granting permission.

(The credits finish, end logos appear. The screen starts to fade to dark...SUDDENLY in a a brown paw rips the black screen and tears it away, revealing an angry Lt. Pug in his "war room" home) Lt. Pug: Those mutts beat my course! I can't believe they beat my unbeatable course. (Arg!) And I had designed it so well too. (Looks up at his blueprints, hanging on the wall) Lt. Pug: Design. That's it. (He runs over and rips them off the wall. He starts tearing the obstacles off the Stage 1 diagram and starts rearranging them) Lt. Pug: If the first verison was too easy I'll come up with a new one! One that will be much tougher, one they won't beat. You can bring all the challengers you want, perhaps even 151, and you won't beat this new one! (evil laugh) (Pug pulls out a pencil and starts planning. Cut suddenly to a Doctor Who-esque blue screen, where three words slam onto the screen) TO...BE...CONTUINED?

Yes it was Bab.
I'm quite proud of this fic I think must have set some records for scale
103 seperate charactes from many different owners (everyone who ran the course plus K-4.5 and Lt. Pug) 5 seperate authors (Me, Belchic, Tac, Two-Tone and Babclayman) and while not a record including replies to the topic, it fittingly took 101 posts for the fic to be completed with a 102nd for cliffhanger.
Wonder if it was big enough to get one of Belchic's reviews?
