Hell, no! I’m not going to go see that! Just because Mat is doesn’t mean I’m going to! He hates some movies that I love like Secret Life of Pets and the MLP movie.

I don't think this film ever got a full theatrical release here in the United States but "Big Bad Fox," which was an Oscar nomination contender last year (although an unsuccessful one), is finally coming out in the UK in early August...which means we finally get an English-language trailer for this funny French flick... www.youtube.com/watch?v=sphYvAVkOyw

Not gonna lie Race that actually looks pretty good.
I did look up Teen Titans Go! to the Movies on RT and only 60% of people polled want to see it.

The general thought with Teen Titans is that the film is actually a fun spoof of superhero films, taking some sincere jabs at the major blockbuster genre of the era (Stan Lee even gets a cameo...then lampshades this is a DC film instead of a Marvel film and he shouldn't be there). Even the people who hate the show seem to like the flick it more than expected...a random end credits teaser hinting the original "Teen Titans" show could be revived likely plays into that.

I did see it as well.
To be honest? I thought it was going to be this year's The Emoji Movie (release date and all) but it greatly exceeded my expectations.
Yes, despite the fact it is based on a show that everyone and their grandmother hates, it was honestly a really cool movie. Lots of fun and laughs which was missing lately.
So yeah guys. Go ahead and support it.

By the way, here’s an update about Duck, Duck, Goose:
AniMatt will not be reviewing it as it will not be released in Canada. It’s already been out in the U.S. but with hardly any promotion.
So with that in mind, the next movie on Mat’s hit list will be Small Foot. I still think that movie looks like garbage.

I think I see one Trailer, for the Goose Film, on a Screen in a Cinema Lobby. I was also in a Store, today, and it is already on D V D, in the U K!
I have not heard of this Small Foot Film, Though. I am looking it up, and it seems to be about a Yeti finding a Human.
Though, it seems James Corden is a Voice, in it.
To check, what other “Animated” Films are there Coming, this year!?

Since this is on my mind right now, I thought maybe I’d talk about my predictions for the Oscars next year and which animated features of this year will be nominated.
I’m sure they will stick to their pattern of nominating three mainstream animated films and two foreign independent films for the category. Then again, we didn’t get very many animated films this year, so it’s likely there may only be three nominees this time. But if they stick with the traditional five, I have my predictions for the mainstream films that will be nominated. I don’t know much about the foreign independent films, so I won’t look at those just yet.
My predictions for the three mainstream films are going to be: The Incredibles II, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Isle of Dogs.
The Incredibles II I’m sure is a shoe-in since it’s done extremely well and got massive praise from audiences and critics alike. Plus, it’s Pixar. I have no doubt this one is going to win too.
Isle of Dogs was also a very critically-praised film, and if they’re going to have a stop-motion film in the category, it has gotta be this one. I suppose there is a chance they might choose Early Man instead, but I think Isle of Dogs is more worthy of an Oscar nomination, but you never know; the Academy does love Aardman; they’re basically the Pixar of the UK.
Ralph Breaks the Internet has yet to be released, but I’m sure it’ll get nominated because there is a lot of massive hype for it, and it looks like Disney is promising something big with this film.
Now as for the other mainstream films:
Early Man: Like I said, it may have a shot, but I think Isle of Dogs deserves a nomination more than this.
Sherlock Gnomes: No Way is this getting nominated!
Sgt. Stubby: I doubt it.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Very unlikely.
Teen Titans GO! To the Movies: It May be getting a lot of praise, but come on! It’s based on a TV series! Since when do those get nominated for Oscars?
Small Foot: I don’t see it happening.
The Grinch: Definitely not. Illumination never has much luck with the Oscars.
Spider-Man: I just don’t see it happening. Why nominate this when you’ve got the real superhero movies of this year? I mean if you look at how well Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Antman & The Wasp did this year, how likely is it an animated Spider-Man movie made by an infamous studio will get an Oscar nomination?
What do you guys think?

We'll have yet to see.
Remember though last year we didn't get too many solid animated films. Nominated alongside Coco was The Boss Baby and Ferdinand, which were odd choices.

I know it's been a bit since we last got Teen Titans Go! To the Movies but next week we are getting Small Foot.
Reviews are coming in and right now it looks... good, at least. We will have to wait until the weekend for more.

Well, we just got Small Foot.
It seems to be a pleasant surprise. This is the Rotten Tomatoes consensus:
For a guy whose marquee idol looks could have easily led him down a far less interesting path, Channing Tatum has consistently demonstrated an admirable willingness to try just about anything onscreen, along with an impressive ability to jump from acclaimed lower-profile releases to mainstream hits. He’s at it again with this weekend’s Smallfoot, an animated outing about a yeti whose discovery of a human ends up throwing his community into upheaval. Rounded out by supporting work from Common, LeBron James, Zendaya, and Danny DeVito, this family-friendly feature — did we mention it’s also a musical? — might look pretty odd on paper, but critics say it’s actually well worth seeking out for families in the mood for a fun night out at the movies. If the results still end up falling a bit shy of the bar set by some of Warner Bros. Animation’s more illustrious competitors, audiences can still expect a solidly entertaining adventure for younger viewers — and all of us can clearly still expect the unexpected from Mr. Tatum.
I may give this one a chance.

I’m still going to pass on this one. I still think it looks like garbage and will be on the same level as films like Norm of the North and The Nut Job.

AniMatt’s review of SmallFoot is up. He had high hopes for this movie, but it turned out to be bland.
Story: 4/10 Animation: 6/10 Characters: 4/10 Songs: 5/10
I did say there was a 90% chance this movie was going to suck, and I’m not too surprised at Mat’s results. Though I am disappointed that it didn’t get his Seal of Garbage.
So now, here’s how the rankings go:
1. The Incredibles II - 90% 2. Isle of Dogs - 90% 3. Teen Titans GO! To the Movies - 70% 4. Early Man - 67% 5. Sgt. Stubby - 63% 6. Small Foot - 48% 7. Sherlock Gnomes - 43% 8. Hotel Transylvania 3 - 33%
