(All 101 challengers run by)
What are all these animals running from? THEY'RE NOT! They're running to the toughest challenge ever on the farm. Lt. Pu's new TOP DOG CHALLENGE. Pug has grown tired of his old "Obstacle Course of Pain and Suffering," folks had a bad habit of finishing it. Now, Pug has ditched it in favor of this impossible new course at the foot of the Mountain in Jenkins Junction. 101 brave animals from 6 contients have accepted the challenge to take on his new course. Pug, however, is very confident that his new course is completely unbeatable. And why shouldn't he be. Divided in 3 almost impossible stages, making it to the finish line would be quite a feat. But for a great achievement there is a great reward. If just one challenger can finish the course, Pug has promised the Chow Tower will be restocked with Kanine Krunchies Pistachio Veal for one week. The course begins here on Stage One with these obstacles...
The Rail Run
A simple balance beam consisting of a single 3 foot piece of railroad track rail located above a water hazard. Fall in the water and you lose. To add to the challenge, the rail is keep constantly slick by some fountain style water sprayers that are turned on between constant runs. This slippery rail is much harder than it looks.
The Skid Pan
A small 1 foot long piece of steel that has been coated with cooking grease. Most can probably jump it with ease but its real danger may be hidden...
The Reversing Belt
A treadmill mounted at a steep angle, similar to the one from the American Gladiators Eliminator. If someone fails to make it up watch out. Sliding back down could send a contestant back into the Skid Pan, sending them sliding back into the Rail Run water hazard and out of the event.
The Door Jam
A standard human door with a full-length latch handle across the width of the door. The door is closed and can only be opened by pulling down on the latch. Challengers can reach the latch by leaping off a trampoline to get the height to reach and pull the latch, opening the door. There is no water hazard, which allows a second chance if they fail the first time but that will cost valuable time.
The Balance Bridge
A large board that freely rotates along an axis running through the middle, make the wrong step to either slide and the board will start to roll, possibly sending him into the water hazard below and out of the event.
The Rolling Log
The challenger must straddle and hold on to to a log whose ends at mounted on rails and then hold on as it decends down a 15° decline rolling the entire way. Hang on tight or plunge into the water hazard below.
The Stairway to Glory
A full-scale set of human stairs that must be climbed, there is no water hazard but it is 6 feet tall and could easily be the undoing of someone tired from the previous obstacles or who's running out of time.
The Rope Climb
At the top of the stairs is the final obstacle, The Rope Climb. Challengers must take a rope and swing to a wall on the other side of a water hazard, then climb up the wall with the rope. After reaching the top, challengers must press the red button to advance to the next stage before time expires. Time is often running short by this time so be quick or you may run out of time. Suceed and your off to the next stage and even harder challenges, run out of time or end in the water and you're done.
The course must be completed in just 101 seconds.
The Rules
Failing, be it by falling in the water hazards or running out of time, results in elimination. Those who are eliminated may not move on to the next stage.
Challengers must stay on the course during their run
While characters that can fly are allowed, flight is not. Characters can't fly at any time during their runs and doing so will result in a DQ.
Format:
I will write the first stage runs for my characters, canon characters (unless others would like to do runs for canon characters of their choice) and the older fan characters whose creaters have long since left.
Anyone is welcome to use the course and write the runs for their own characters during the first stage. If you'd like, I can write runs for your characters if you'd prefere.
