Brave didn't win anything yet. I don't know where you guys got that idea.
I'm surprised there are five nominees. I thought there'd only be three since there were less than 16 animated features released this year.
I'm also surprised Arriety didn't make the list since they always have to have a foreign film in there somewhere.
Now, about the nominees:
I doubt Pirates or Frankenweenie will win since they were both mediocre films.
ParaNorman and Wreck-It Ralph might have a strong chance since they both got a lot of rave reviews. I personally think the latter should win.
As for Brave, I think it's most likely going to be the winner. Even though it did get mixed reviews, the academy does love Pixar, and that movie did at least gain a cult following.

Not sure where else I can make this post (since we haven't got a "Films of 2013" thread and we don't have one for "2014" either) however I have recently heard they're making a Forth Jurrassic Park Film said to be released in the Summer of Next Year... And here's the Concept Art. img.gawkerassets.com/img/181nydm49pq0ojpg/original.jpgWhat the heck!? Are the Dinos evoling or is it Anthro or...What? o.o

Brave didn't win anything yet. I don't know where you guys got that idea. Nope, Brave nabbed the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature about a week ago. I personally thought it should have gone to Wreck-It Ralph, but I was happy for it all the same.

I was on ultimatedisney.com and I read this about the upcoming Best Animated Feature on the Blu-Ray/DVD review of Frankenweenie:
That category, expected to include three Disney releases (while a potential fourth, Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty, is ineligible), would earn Burton just his second Oscar nomination to date (the first came for Corpse Bride). The film has won the equivalent honor from a number of critics groups on both coasts and will compete for the somewhat prognosticative Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards in the next ten days.
(the winner of the Critics Choice award was Rise of the Guardians, while Brave won the Golden Globe Award)
I don't think Frankenweenie is the best of last year's strong animated offerings, but it seems a given that Brave will inspire a "share the wealth" attitude toward Pixar that will probably narrow the race down to this and Disney Animation Studios' superior Wreck-It Ralph.

The nominees for the Academy Award for Best Animated Film of 2012. The nominees are: Brave (Pixar) Frankenweenie (Disney) ParaNorman (Laika) The Pirates! Band of Misfits (Aardman/Columbia) Wreck-It Ralph (Disney) Unbelievable. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature went to Brave. EDIT: On Facebook the Nostalgia Critic says this: Brave winning over ParaNorman or Wreck-it Ralph was bullcrap.

Why am I not freaking surprised? How can anyone not see this coming? It doesn't matter what other people thought of the movie or how well it did in the box office. The Academy just happens to love Pixar. Just like how the Annie's love Dreamworks.

Seriously? Brave won?
I sometimes believe that those Awards often like to look at "Prettiest Looking Film". I mean, Brave looked nice, but the story wasn't really one of Pixar's strongest. Like my Sister & I commented, it looked like "Quest for Camelot meets Brother Bear".
These Awards need to look more on substance than they do on looks, eh?
Although, Did Dreamworks win anything at the Annie's, this year?

Although, Did Dreamworks win anything at the Annie's, this year? I'm sure they must have, considering Dreamworks still remains the Annie's #1 sponsor. I did see AniMatt's video on this year's Annie's, and I do remember him saying that "Rise of the Guardians" did win 2 or 3 awards. Though, one thing that's for sure, it didn't win "Best Animated Feature" (that of course went to "Wreck-It Ralph" in the Annie's).

If this makes you feel any better, Trey, Paperman won the Oscar for Best Animated Short.

Frankenwenie and Paranorman deserved the Oscar nominations.
I wanted Hotel Transsylvania to be nominated too.
